PURPOSE OF THE COURSE is to provide a quality education and training program for persons interested in teaching Water Walking and/or organizing and administrating programs. The course is designed to advance the knowledge, skills, abilities, credentials, and competency of the persons taking the course.

PREREQUISITES:

• Basic Level Course:
  • 16 years of age or older.
• Advance Level Course:
  • Have a current basic or advanced level Water Fitness Instructors Certification from one of the following: USWFA, YMCA or AEA.
  • Have at least one year experience teaching water excercise.

PROGRAM MATERIALS: Order the program materials from the USWFA National Headquarters. (Official Order Form ). The official course registration form and program fee are sent to USWFA National Headquarters:

• The course materials consists of the following and are sent by priority mail:
  • Water Walking Instructors Manual, fifty (50) Water Walking Flyers, Course Packet, Open Book Test. and a Water Walking Video
  • Interview Aquatic Director Forms

THE COURSE: Review the materials. Look through the Manual. Watch the video and review the home study materials. Follow the course instructions as printed at the beginning of the home study course.

• Requirements to successfully complete this course:

• Open Book Test Score Consists of Two Parts:
  • Video & Open Book Test: Basic Level: 90%; Advance Level: 95% Teach Individuals to Water Walk: Basic Level: 5 Persons; Advance Level: 25 Persons, Distribute Water Walking Flyers: Basic Level & Advance Level: 50 flyers each
  • Interview Aquatic Directors: Basic Level: 2; Advance Level: 4
• Upon completion of the course work, send the required materials and open book test to USWFA National Headquarters for review and grading. Upon sucessfully completing all the required materials, your certification will be issued and the following items will be mailed via first class mail:

• Certification Certificate Certification Card, Local Chapter Certificate for the Water Walkers of America Membership Cards for Water Walkers of America
• If the facility where the instructor teaches is already a Chapter Member, additional membership cards will be issued as follows:
  • Basic Level Course: 10 extra cards
  • Advanced Course: 25 extra cards

RENEWAL PROCEDURE: Certification is valid for three-years and can be renewed through the mail by completing a renewal packet.
